What time is check in & check out?
Check in is from 1.00 pm and check out up to 10.00 am.
I’m flying into Belfast – how much does it cost to get to you and what is the best route?
Please remember there are 2 airports in Belfast – Belfast International Airport (sometimes locally called Aldergrove) and Belfast City Airport recently renamed George Best Airport. Both run buses to the Europa Bus Centre in Great Victoria St which is only around 5 minutes walk to the apartment. The Dublin bus stops at the Europa Bus Centre also.
Please note that taxis which sit outside the airport terminal buildings are un-metered and have been known to overcharge. Our advice is to ring a taxi from Value Cabs on 0044(0)2890 809080 on arrival at the airport (or organise this prior to arrival) and use this properly metered service. Their fleet of cars are never far from either of the 2 airports.
How far is it from a supermarket?
Tesco’s Express is about 1 minute walk so it’s like having your own larder round the corner. It’s open from 6.00 am to midnight 7 days a week and has a good pharmacy beside it.
How often are the towels and bedding changed?
If your stay is longer than 1 week, we can come in and change the towels and bedding on a weekly basis. Of course we will respect your privacy and if you wish we can leave the towels and linen for you to change yourself.
Do you clean the apartment during our visit?
No, we will only change the towels and bedding and clean on your departure.
Is there car hire nearby and can you recommend any?
Self Catering Accommodation Belfast do not recommend any particular car hire company, but simply suggest you check online. A free dedicated space is available at each of the apartments. It’s also worth noting that a car is not particularly recommended or needed as you are so central.
What is the nearest train station terminal to the apartment?
The nearest station is Botanic (NIR) Rail Station which is around 5 minutes walk from the apartments, however Central Station may be more appropriate and may save you having to change trains. It is around 15 mins walk from the apartments.
Is there anywhere you’d particularly recommend us to visit in Belfast?
There are so many different places to visit in Belfast that it depends on your preferences and interests however prior to and during your stay we will advise as best we can based on your choices.
Is there internet access?
There is both a PC and wireless internet access so if you bring a laptop you will be able to log on with the code I supply on arrival or use the PC provided.
How do you cater for guests of varied faiths and religions?
We respect and welcome guests from all faiths, religions and backgrounds and try to ensure we do everything to enhance their stay. Further requests / comments can also be considered from all faiths and religions. A bible is available on request.
Where is the nearest tourist information office?
It is the BVCV (Belfast Visitor & Convention Bureau) opposite Belfast City Hall which is about 10 minutes walk from the apartment, or a smaller one at Queen University, about the same distance in the opposite direction.
I have a balance to pay on arrival, what payment methods do you accept?
Although we have started to take cards, we would prefer cash please as we otherwise have to make a surcharge of 3% on card payments. We’re not happy about this but with card providers charging up to 4.5% plus terminal hire, etc it’s an overhead which we have to pass on. You will NOT have been charged a surcharge on the deposit though. It may also help to know there is an ATM about a minutes walk from the apartments.
What currency do you accept? For example, do you take Euro?
Sorry but we can only accept UK currency which is the British Pound / Sterling or (with prior agreement) the Euro (subject to the exchange rate on http://www.xe.com/ on day of arrival).
Do you supply a welcome pack?
Yes, on arrival there will be tea, coffee, milk and biscuits as refreshments.
Do I need to bring towels?
No, we supply hand and bath towels.
Can you advise on mobile phone use and cost?
Belfast is part of the UK and as long as you stay within N.Ireland and have a UK number you should not incur roaming costs. We can provide (free) a mobile phone and SIM card on request. There is no charge for this, but you will need to ‘top up’ if you want to make calls.
What washing / cleaning materials do you supply?
We supply washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing machine powder, hand wash and soap.

For political and mural tours, we can recommend Gerard from Belfast Attractions (tel 02890 247797) or email email@example.com We found his tour very fair, balanced and informative and we really enjoyed it. The cost is just £15 / person for a 90 min tour (min £45 per tour). Gerard will pick up our guests from any of our apartments at no extra cost. Please book early during busy periods.
Can you recommend someone who runs tours to the Giant’s Causeway?
